Job summary

AWD online is seeking a Site Technician/Engineering Technician for nationwide site work across the UK. You will conduct structural investigations, testing and surveying with hands-on use of specialist equipment, guided by experienced colleagues.

The role includes training and travel, with varied working times and overnight stays. The position requires prior site experience, strong IT and proficiency in building fabrics (concrete, steel, masonry), and a full UK driving license.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar site-based role.
• Site experience with competence using site tools and equipment.
• Proficiency in English and Maths, with strong IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Understanding of building fabrics including concrete, steel and masonry.
• Strong attention to detail and flexible approach to working times.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Structural investigation, testing and surveying on site under supervision.
• Log and record site data with clear, accurate notes.
• Assist with data analysis and technical reporting.
• Safely operate specialist equipment (Ferroscan, covermeters, PUNDIT, Schmidt Hammers, GPR, diamond core and breaker drills).
• Produce high-quality work in line with standards and client requirements.
• Follow health and safety policies and site procedures.
• Support senior staff and help develop junior colleagues.
• Travel to sites across the UK for varied environments including confined spaces and at height.
