Job summary

GOLDBECK SOLAR Gruppe in the UK seeks a senior engineering leader to shape and grow the UK engineering function, driving delivery of large-scale solar projects from design through commissioning while ensuring compliance with UK regulations and client requirements.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, coordinate with project management, procurement, construction and sales, mentor engineers, and travel across the UK to meet clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive experience in engineering roles within solar/renewable energy/infrastructure.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of UK engineering standards and regulations.
• Experience with AutoCAD and PVSyst.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Self-sufficient and proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Willingness to travel across the UK for project and client meetings.
• Full UK driving licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Act as the technical escalation point for projects and tenders.
• Ensure compliance with UK regulations, client requirements and industry standards.
• Review and approve engineering designs, calculations and documentation.
• Support project execution from design through commissioning.
• Coordinate closely with project management, procurement, construction and sales teams.
• Drive continuous improvement of engineering processes and tools.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and professional development of team members.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and key stakeholders.
