Job summary

BBVA in the UK seeks a senior manager to lead the Risk Control Assurance function, overseeing non-financial risks across CIB activities within the UK perimeter. You will manage risk testing, remediation follow-up and contribute to the wider European RCC frameworks.

You will lead a UK RCA team, ensuring robust governance, strong risk culture, and effective interaction with senior stakeholders across risk, compliance and business lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related discipline; postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
• Minimum 8 years in Operational Risk, Non-Financial Risk, Internal Control, Internal Audit, Compliance, Risk Management or related control functions in financial institutions, with exposure to CIB.
• Strong knowledge of risk and control frameworks, RCSA methodologies and control testing, including risk assessment and monitoring of weaknesses.
• Knowledge of CIB products and processes across GM, GTB, IBF; solid people management and leadership experience.
• Ability to engage senior stakeholders and communicate risk and control matters clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead the RCA function for the UK perimeter and oversee risk and control practices.
• Develop and manage the UK RCA team; set priorities and review deliverables.
• Oversee risk testing and monitoring, including KRIs and incident handling.
• Coordinate governance and remediation with Internal Audit, regulatory findings and other controls.
• Drive continuous improvement in RCA processes across the UK and broader BBVA network.
