Tailscale is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to support internal services and build scalable, observable infrastructure in a remote UK setting.

You will drive automation, collaborate with product teams, and optimize deployment pipelines while maintaining robust system performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience with CI/CD, secrets management, Infrastructure as Code and observability tools.
• Experience working with distributed systems.
• Experience operating managed services in cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Experience operating Kubernetes in production is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support internal business units through shared engineering services and functionalities.
• Develop tools and processes to improve internal team efficiency.
• Build stakeholder relationships and manage projects from initiation to completion.

Support internal business units through shared engineering services and functionalities.

Develop tools and processes to improve internal team efficiency.

Build stakeholder relationships and manage projects from initiation to completion.

Collaborate with customer-facing teams to support their objectives and simplify daily operations.

Work with product engineering teams to extract data for informed business decisions.

Improve system observability through metrics, alerting, logging and telemetry integration.

Identify and implement Continuous Deployment (CD) improvements.

Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to manage and modify cloud environments.

Collaborate with engineering teams on cross-functional infrastructure improvements.

Automate upgrades for managed services and virtual machines.

Design, build, test and document core software components.

Monitor running services, participate in incident response and handle customer support escalations.

Requirements

• Experience with CI/CD, secrets management, Infrastructure as Code and observability tools.
• Experience working with distributed systems.

• Knowledge of networking concepts, including IP addressing and routing.
• Experience with Go programming language is an advantage.
