Job summary

A&O Shearman is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join the payroll team in Belfast on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will manage UK payrolls, ensure timely payments, and handle changes and remittance calculations.

The role spans UK payroll regulations, RTI, and contractor payroll under IR35. We are looking for a professional with strong numerical ability, experience with HRIS systems such as PeopleSoft, and familiarity with SD Worx payroll.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in processing a comparable sized payroll.

Responsibilities

• Process allocated UK payrolls from data collection to final outputs ensuring accurate payments.
• Input and process payroll changes including starters, leavers, contractual changes, absence and overtime.
• Calculate statutory payments, pensions auto-enrolment, RTI and other adjustments.
• Administer payroll for contractors inside IR35.
• Keep HMRC notifications up to date and respond to payroll inquiries.
• Collaborate with HR Operations and HR Managers on queries and payments.
• Assist with benefit administration and month-end reconciliations.
• Support with monthly remittance and year-end processes.
