Overall Purpose of the Role:
The Marketing Manager develops and delivers the Chartwells Universities & Colleges Proposition, aiming to drive profitable revenue growth through participation and MAP2 growth, supporting sales and retention pipelines.
This is achieved through creating measurable activation plans focusing on categories like lunch, hot beverages, and food to go, increasing participation, spend, and frequency via apps, kiosks, and tills.
The role involves engaging stakeholders, ensuring activity aligns with insights and internal objectives, and maintaining communication on priorities and progress.
More about the role:
- Developing the annual marketing plan collaboratively with stakeholders
- Creating engaging promotional materials using third-party and in-house design tools
- Managing third-party creative agencies
- Preparing operational briefs for new offers and campaigns
- Building marketing asset templates via Canva for digital and print
- Managing the marketing budget with approval from senior management
- Sourcing sponsorships to fund marketing activities
- Approving promotional business cases for retail promotions
Food Development:
- Determining the Annual Food Development Plan based on consumer insights in collaboration with the Executive Development Chef
Insight:
- Gathering market, consumer, and operator insights to inform marketing and food offers
- Creating and promoting annual consumer surveys for universities and colleges
- Developing point-of-sale materials to raise survey awareness
- Briefing operators to maximize survey responses
- Compiling reports on survey findings and providing site-level data
Brand Standards:
- Ensuring brand consistency across all Chartwells brands and templates
- Approving visual designs for outlets and branded items
- Supporting SOP development for creating welcoming, sales-optimized spaces
- Updating digital content on the Uni Food Hub and Time2Eat app
- Managing menu uploads and edits on digital platforms
Student Engagement & Community Marketing Managers:
- Supporting team training and development
- Briefing on marketing campaigns
- Managing senior team members for key projects
- Supporting campaign assets and print materials
- Preparing quarterly review packs and social media content
- Collaborating with sales for bid proposals and presentations
- Organizing photoshoots and creating briefing materials
