About the Role

As a Legal Manager, you will be responsible for managing the company’s legal and compliance work independently to support the launch of the Changan brand in the UK.

This role requires a hands-on approach as we scale the business from the ground up. As the Legal Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to utilise your planning, network, and leadership skills to establish the legal and compliance structure in the UK. This will be aligned with and supported by the teams in Europe and China.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher; LL.M or JD is preferred.
• Relevant educational background in UK law or graduated from UK law schools.
• Pass the legal bar examination.
• Several years of experience in a related field. Experience in the automotive industry and its industrial chain are preferred.
• Excellent legal analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong sense of professional responsibility.
• Proficient in English; fluency in Chinese is preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with international, cross-functional teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Reviewing and negotiating various business contracts, as well as formulating and optimizing contract templates.
• Providing legal support for the company’s daily business, reporting regularly to the EU headquarters, and implementing relevant requirements.
• Handling lawsuits, arbitrations, and other legal disputes involving the company.
• Supporting the setup of the legal compliance system, including policies, contract management, etc., with a focus on data compliance, anti-trust, anti-unfair competition, and employment compliance.
• Conducting legal research in the UK and providing relevant legal & compliance training.
• Expanding local legal resources, including establishing relationships with law firms and institutions.
