Job description

Overview

At PepsiCo UK, we’re proud to make some of the nation’s favourite snacks and drinks—like Walkers, Quaker, Doritos, Pipers, and Monster Munch. With sites across the UK, including our Quaker mill in Cupar and Doritos factory in Coventry, we’re also home to one of the world’s largest crisp factories in Leicester.

The IBP Short-Term Demand Planner is responsible for delivering an accurate and unbiased short-term demand plan by translating customer, commercial and market signals into executable demand. The role supports Demand Control and iS&OE processes, enabling agile decision-making while protecting service, inventory and execution performance across the UK&I business.

Working within the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) framework and leveraging the o9 planning platform, the role plays a key part in maintaining one aligned demand plan across the short-term planning horizon.

Responsibilities
  • Own the short-term demand plan (0–22 weeks) for an assigned channel/portfolio, delivering an accurate and unbiased forecast that reflects customer, commercial and market signals.
  • Lead short-term demand planning activities, including forecast enrichment, Demand Control and the forecast handshake process, ensuring commercial inputs are reviewed, challenged where appropriate and aligned with the agreed IBP demand plan.
  • Monitor forecast performance, identify demand exceptions, short-term Risks & Opportunities and execution risks, implementing timely corrective actions to protect customer service and inventory performance.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Collaboration, Supply Planning, Finance, the IBP Channel Demand Planner and the Forecast Analyst to develop customer insights, support service execution, facilitate the forecast handshake process and maintain a single aligned demand plan across short-term and medium-term planning horizons.
  • Lead Demand Control and support iS&OE forums by providing clear demand insights, highlighting emerging risks and recommending appropriate mitigation actions to enable informed business decisions.
  • Maintain high standards of forecast quality, data integrity and planning governance through effective use of the o9 planning platform, collaboration with the Forecast Analyst to leverage system-generated insights, and adherence to IBP processes and standards.
  • Act as the recognised subject matter expert for short-term demand planning, Demand Control and demand sensing processes.
  • Drive standardisation of planning processes, governance and best practices across the ST planning community.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to simplify planning activities, reduce manual effort and support adoption of new o9 capabilities.
  • Coach and support Short-Term Demand Planners, sharing knowledge and promoting consistent planning standards.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for complex forecast exceptions and execution-related planning issues, supporting resolution and recommending improvements to the Channel Demand Planner Lead.
  • Support Global Data Object (GDO) governance by facilitating the investigation and resolution of complex data quality issues, coordinating with cross-functional GDO owners and promoting consistent application of data quality standards, documentation and best practices.
Qualifications
Functional Competencies
  • Experience in Demand Planning, Supply Chain Planning or Integrated Business Planning within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or similar environment.
  • Understanding of forecasting methodologies, demand sensing and short-term planning processes.
  • Experience using planning systems (o9 experience desirable) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and translate insights into business actions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across Commercial, Supply Chain and Finance.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing activities in a fast-paced environment.
Leadership & Behavioural Competencies
  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability for delivering high-quality planning outcomes.
  • Builds collaborative relationships and works effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve planning processes and ways of working.
  • Uses data and insight to support sound business decisions.
  • Adapts positively to change and contributes to the successful adoption of new planning capabilities and technologies.
Additional Competencies
  • Recognised as a functional expert in short-term demand planning and IBP processes.
