Job summary

Alpheus, part of the Anglian Water Group, seeks a Head of UK Operations to lead the safe, compliant and commercially successful delivery of O&M across the UK. You will manage a national portfolio, build strong customer partnerships and drive operational excellence while promoting safety and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the leadership team, you’ll develop high-performing teams, shape strategy, and influence contract performance and profitability.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in environmental, mechanical or electrical engineering.
• IOSH RAMS and operational activity management qualification.
• Significant senior leadership experience in operations/utilities.
• Experience managing large-scale contracts and multi-million-pound budgets.
• Strong commercial acumen with client relationships.
• Proven relationships with senior stakeholders and customers.
• Experience leading high-performing operational teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operational delivery of all UK O&M contracts, ensuring safe, compliant and customer-focused performance.
• Provide strategic leadership to operational teams, aligning resources with business objectives.
• Develop and maintain trusted relationships with senior customer stakeholders.
• Drive health, safety, quality, environmental performance and process safety.
• Lead and develop O&M managers and compliance lead, building capability and succession.
• Ensure governance, compliance and continuous improvement across the portfolio.
• Take ownership of financial performance, budgets and profitability.
• Conduct performance reviews, identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Support business development and bid submissions.
• Lead mobilisation of newly awarded contracts.
• Represent Alpheus externally with customers, regulators and suppliers.
• Drive innovation and best practices across sites.
