UK Finance Manager: Reporting & Team Leadership

Job summary

WJ UK, a leading water management specialist, seeks a UK Finance Manager based at the Kings Langley head office. You will lead the UK accounts team, coordinate with eDOC back-office financial support in the Philippines, and deliver timely monthly financial information for the Group's reporting.

Responsibilities cover financial accounting, contract costing, cash and tax compliance, audits, and supporting tender pricing.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
• Minimum five years as Finance Manager or equivalent.
• Experience reporting within a group structure and consolidation packs.
• Proven experience managing and developing a finance team, including remote/offshore staff.
• Advanced Excel skills and MS Office suite.
• Knowledge of Sage accounting systems.
• Experience in construction/contracting, CVRs and payment applications.
• Experience implementing or migrating to a new accounting system.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly accounts to Trial Balance level.
• Produce monthly Finance Meeting reports highlighting variances and risks.
• Manage monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Post monthly and ad-hoc journals.
• Analyse overheads and project costs for cost control.
• Review CVRs, WIP, accruals, cost-to-complete and margins.
• Lead annual audit with external auditors.
• Oversee credit control, purchase ledger and payments.
• Cash flow reporting and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure tax returns and internal controls are compliant.
