Job summary

Speedy Freight in Knutsford is seeking a UK Finance Manager to own the financial management and reporting for the UK division, guiding commercial decisions. This hands-on role leads month-end, forecasting, budgeting and a small team, collaborating with divisional leaders to turn data into actions.

Ideal candidates will have ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualifications (part or full), 2–3+ years in finance, strong Excel, and Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly and monthly finance packs with analysis and commentary.
• Own rolling forecasts and support annual budgeting.
• Analyse performance against budget and forecast and identify risks.
• Work with divisional leaders on pricing, profitability and investments.
• Provide commercial insight to improve performance and margins.
• Oversee billing, cash collection and credit control.
• Manage and develop two Assistant Accountants.
• Improve finance processes, automation and controls.
• Support Dynamics 365 optimisation and data accuracy.

At Speedy Freight, we're growing fast — and that means our finance team needs to be more than just good with numbers.

We're looking for a UK Finance Manager to take ownership of the financial management and reporting for our UK division, providing the insight and challenge that helps our leadership team make better commercial decisions.

This is a hands‑on role where you'll have real influence. You'll manage the day‑to‑day finance cycle, lead month‑end reporting and forecasting, support budgeting and profitability analysis, and work closely with divisional leaders to turn financial data into practical business decisions.

You'll also lead and develop two members of the finance team, while helping us improve processes, systems and ways of working as the business continues to scale.

What you'll be doing

• Take ownership of finance activities across the UK division.

• Manage, coach and develop two Assistant Accountants.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, automation and controls.
• Support and optimise the use of Microsoft Dynamics 365, ensuring data is accurate and systems are used effectively.
• Provide financial analysis and support for growth projects, new services and wider business initiatives.

You’ll ideally have:

• ACA, CIMA or ACCA – part‑qualified or qualified.
