UK Entity Controller | FCA-Regulated Fintech Finance Lead

Job summary

LemFi in London is seeking a UK Entity Controller to own the numbers for FCA-regulated entities—an EMI, a payment institution and a growing consumer credit business. You will lead a small team and build credit accounting that scales with lending growth.

You’ll deliver accurate monthly closes, file FRS 102 statutory accounts, manage audits, and partner with FP&A, Tax, and Regulatory Finance to meet FCA deadlines while strengthening controls and safeguarding processes.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification with 10+ years post-qualification experience.
• Hands-on lending or consumer credit accounting, including IFRS 9 ECL modelling.
• Experience in FCA-regulated firms such as an EMI, payment institution, bank or lender.
• Strong FRS 102 and IFRS technical knowledge with a track record of clean statutory audits.
• Experience with high transaction volumes, multi-currency processing and ERP systems like NetSuite.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a small accounting team.

Responsibilities

• Own the UK close - monthly, quarterly and year-end close for UK entities on the Group timetable.
• Prepare and file FRS 102 statutory accounts on time and coordinate audits with auditors.
• Build and own credit accounting for consumer lending - IFRS 9 ECL, interest and fees.
• Sign off safeguarding calculations and ensure funds balances are reconciled at month-end.
• Account for high volumes of multi-currency transactions and intercompany positions.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Tax and Regulatory Finance to meet FCA deadlines.
• Document controls and automate close tasks; establish trained backups.
