Job summary

O-I in the UK seeks an experienced UK Energy Leader to drive energy management, efficiency and sustainability across our manufacturing operations. You will champion best practices, lead energy reduction projects and monitor performance with plant leadership and regional stakeholders.

You will analyse energy data, report results and act as the energy SME for the UK, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to maximise opportunities and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Energy Management or related discipline.
  • Minimum of three years in energy management or utilities.
  • Strong understanding of industrial energy systems and efficiency practices.
  • Experience delivering projects and driving continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated UK Energy Leader to drive energy management, efficiency and sustainability initiatives across our UK manufacturing operations. This strategic and influential role will lead efforts to reduce energy consumption, optimise performance, identify cost-saving opportunities and support the delivery of the company's sustainability objectives.

As the UK Energy Leader, you will work closely with plant leadership teams, engineering, operations, maintenance and regional stakeholders to champion energy best practice, implement energy reduction projects and ensure effective monitoring and reporting of energy performance. You will act as the key energy subject matter expert for the UK and represent the organisation in regional and global energy forums.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and drive energy efficiency, cost reduction and sustainability initiatives across UK manufacturing operations.
  • Identify, evaluate and implement opportunities to improve energy performance and reduce consumption.
  • Analyse energy data and performance trends, developing action plans to achieve energy reduction targets.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver energy-saving projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate energy reporting, monitoring and compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote energy best practice and foster a culture of energy awareness across all sites.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, utility providers and external partners to maximise energy efficiency opportunities and available incentives.
  • Share best practices and support knowledge exchange across UK, regional and global operations.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for energy management and represent the UK business in regional and global energy forums.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering, Energy Management or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in energy management, engineering, utilities management or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of industrial energy systems and energy efficiency practices.
  • Proven experience in delivering projects and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate meaningful insights.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with energy-related data.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally glass manufacturing.
  • Experience supporting sustainability, carbon reduction or decarbonisation programmes.
  • Experience working with energy management platforms and reporting systems.
