Job summary

NatWest Group is seeking a UI Software Engineer to design, develop, test and implement software across the full lifecycle. You will work in a permanent feature team, liaising with principal engineers, architects and stakeholders to ensure platform alignment with business objectives.

Responsibilities include applying Agile methods, delivering resilient software, shaping architecture through prototyping, and automating build, test and deployment activities to improve efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and developing modern, responsive user interfaces with React and related front-end technologies.
• Hands-on experience building and supporting mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms.
• Strong experience with wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes, user journeys, and interaction flows with UX/UI designers and stakeholders.
• Good full-stack experience, including Java-based microservices using Spring Boot, REST APIs, and event-driven tech like Kafka and IBM MQ.
• Experience applying TDD, automated testing, unit testing, mocking, and Agile delivery with DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge of platform across business, applications, data and infrastructure and liaise with engineers and stakeholders to align with objectives.
• Apply Agile methods to software development and deliver resilient, scalable software.
• Design and implement architecture and emergent designs through experimentation and prototyping.
• Focus on automation of build, test and deployment activities using executable patterns.
