Job summary

The Acorn Group is seeking a UAT Tester to contribute to ongoing testing across software, websites and mobile apps. You will develop test plans, execute them, and perform usability tests to verify software quality aligns with business requirements.

Role involves logging defects, reproducing issues, and documenting findings. Hybrid working from Liverpool City Centre with 37.5 hours per week. Salary up to £31,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience creating and executing test plans for software, websites and mobile apps.
  • Strong understanding of UAT processes and user scenarios.
  • Ability to log, reproduce defects and verify fixes across platforms.
  • Familiarity with SDLC stages and testing methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Record test evidence across platforms and tools.
  • Log defects with external providers and track status.
  • Reproduce defects and document reproduction steps clearly.
  • Write and understand UAT test scripts and plans.
  • Perform UAT testing and report results to stakeholders.
  • Communicate findings clearly to the team.
  • Document test findings for audit and review.

Job description

The UAT Tester will participate in the ongoing testing of software applications, websites and mobile applications consumed by the business and its customers. Included will also be the production of test plans and execution of test plans and usability tests to ensure that the quality of the software delivered is functioning, effective and in line with the business requirements.

Role: Software Tester

Salary: Up to £31,000 depending on experience

Location: Liverpool City Centre with Hybrid working

Hours: 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday from 9:00am - 5:30pm

What you will be doing:
  • Recording Test Evidence using a variety of platforms
  • Logging defects with external providers
  • Defect recreation and documentation of Reproduction steps
  • Understand and write UAT test scripts and plans
  • Perform UAT Testing
  • Communicate Findings
  • Document Findings
What we are looking for:
  • Eye for detail and ability to spot a fault
  • Responsible person capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good understanding of the STLC/SDLC
  • Solid understanding of the client journey and what is important
Desirable but not essential:
  • JIRA / Devops / Zendesk / Testrail
  • Exposure to the Insurance or Financial Services Industry
