Job summary

City of Doncaster Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join the Inspiring Futures Team, focused on separated children. You will handle assessments, safeguarding and family support, working within a fixed shift pattern and flexible requests.

A strong commitment to high practice standards and child-centred outcomes is essential. Essential qualifications include a BA/MA in Social Work (or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England.

Qualifications

  • BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Experience of working with children and families, preferably as a qualified social worker
  • Ability to build strong relationships with children, families, colleagues and partner agencies
  • Ability to analyse information and write high-quality assessments
  • Focus on supporting families to help them resolve challenges
  • Commitment to provide children in care with support to thrive
  • Focus on continuing professional development
  • Motivation and resilience
  • Knowledge of separated children and asylum process

Responsibilities

  • Carry out social work assessments for separated children.
  • Support families to make positive changes and enable children to meet their potential.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with children, families, and partner agencies.
  • Ensure high standards of practice and effective case management.
  • Contribute to positive outcomes for children in care and safeguarding.
