Job summary

ALPINE RACING LIMITED is seeking a Tyre Performance Engineer to join our team at Enstone. You will deliver real-time, data-driven support to engineers and drivers to optimise tyre usage and car setup for peak performance on track.

With a strong background in tyre physics, vehicle dynamics, and data analysis, you will develop tyre models and tools while working between the factory and racetrack to push for podiums and race wins.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering with a track record of performing under pressurised, time-sensitive conditions.
• Experience in F1 or high-level motorsport is preferred.
• Strong understanding of tyre physics, vehicle dynamics, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time and data-driven support to Race Team engineers and drivers for optimal car setup and tyre utilization.
• Evaluate and optimise tyre usage during track tests and race events for maximum performance in qualifying and races.
• Support pre/in/post-event tyre analysis and reporting.
• Develop and refine tyre models, simulation tools, and grip mapping methodologies.
• Assist with data analysis for tyre testing, model correlation, and forecasting future tyre performance.

Job Description

Are you ready to accelerate your career with a dynamic and innovative F1 team? We are looking to expand our well-established team with an Engineer who is motivated to significantly contribute to our relentless pursuit of excellence. We are looking for a Tyre Performance Engineer to join us at Enstone. This position will play a crucial role in helping us push for podiums and race wins.

Your challenge:

As our Tyre Performance Engineer, you will play an important role providing real time and data driven support to Race Team engineers and Race Drivers to ensure that car setup and tyre utilisation is optimised to achieve the maximum possible overall performance.

You will evaluate and optimise tyre utilisation during track tests and race events to ensure maximum overall performance of cars during qualifying and racing.

Key accountabilities are:

• Support pre/in/post-event tyre analysis and reporting.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts efficiently in high-pressure situations to audiences of different background (drivers, senior management, race engineers…).
• Develop and refine tyre models, simulation tools, and grip mapping methodologies.
• Assist with data analysis support for tyre testing, model correlation, and future tyre performance forecasting.
• Support tyre-specific Simulator testing, including test specification, real time support during testing, post test data analysis and reporting.
• Continuously improve operational processes and analysis tools.
• The position is split between factory and racetrack.

You will have an active and curious mindset, you will constantly strive to enhance your own capabilities and those of the wider team by helping to improve our methodology and processes, championing best practice, and contributing towards the standardisation of our approach to control strategies.

You should be educated to degree level or equivalent in Engineering with a track record of working to a consistently high standard in pressurised and time sensitive situations.

You will have a strong understanding of tyre physics, vehicle dynamics, simulation and data analysis, with experience in using MATLAB or Python an advantage.

We need someone who is self-motivated, analytical, and a pragmatic decision-maker capable of working with minimal supervision. We seek someone with a creative, innovative, and consistent approach to problem-solving.
