Job summary

New Horizons School in Eastbourne is seeking a passionate Teacher of Art for a 0.6 FTE (three days per week) role. You will teach Art across Key Stages 2–4 and lead accredited pathways such as BTEC Art and Design, nurturing creativity in pupils with SEMH and ASD.

The position runs on a 0.6 FTE basis with a pro-rata salary starting from £14,239 per annum, with the pay scales UQT 1-6 to MPS 1-6 /UPS 1-3. Start date January 2027; closing date 6 October 2026. Applicants invited to visit the school.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and resilient Teacher of Art to join our dedicated team on a 0.6 FTE (three days per week) basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner to deliver Art across both the primary and secondary phases, inspiring pupils through engaging and meaningful creative experiences that support both academic success and personal development.

The successful candidate will teach Art across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4 and will lead the delivery of accredited pathways, including BTEC Art and Design. We are looking for someone who can nurture creativity, build confidence and self-expression, and provide pupils with opportunities to develop practical skills and artistic techniques. The ability to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that engages pupils with SEMH and ASD needs is essential.

Experience of working with pupils with additional needs would be advantageous, but applications are welcomed from excellent teachers who are committed to inclusive education and passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.
