Job summary

2 Sisters Food Group, Cavaghan & Gray site in Carlisle, seeks an experienced Head of Operations to lead two sites, drive performance, and shape the operation's future. You will oversee teams, implement data-driven improvements, and align operations with a shared vision.

The role requires hands-on leadership, a track record in short shelf-life food manufacturing, and the ability to manage change in a fast-paced environment. This is a demanding, strategic operational leadership position.

Qualifications

• Experience in short shelf-life food manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of production metrics and how to leverage them for performance gains.
• Hands-on leader who can roll up their sleeves.
• Ability to lead through change and modernise legacy operations.
• Skilled in team development, with the ability to unify and inspire large, diverse teams.
• Comfortable in fast-paced environments with tight timelines.

Responsibilities

• Full operational responsibility across two Carlisle sites.
• Lead, motivate, and align teams across both locations to a shared operational vision.
• Drive performance improvement initiatives using data, root cause analysis, and clear KPIs.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across manufacturing processes.
• Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and staff development.
• Address legacy challenges and build readiness for future growth.
• Delegate effectively and ensure the right people are empowered to deliver.
