Job summary

Twilight Vet Surgeon position at CVS Vets 24/7 Carmarthen seeks an experienced veterinary surgeon to join the ECC team. The role offers a varied caseload, hospital facilities, and supportive clinical colleagues in a busy 24/7 emergency setting.

You will work 3 weekday shifts from 6:00pm–11:00pm and Sundays 2:30pm–7:30pm, with a focus on consultations and emergency care, including surgical cases. The practice supports professional development and collaboration within a multidisciplinary hospital.

Qualifications

• 2-3+ years’ experience as a Veterinary Surgeon.
• Comfort with emergency procedures such as Caesarean sections and exploratory laparotomies.
• GDV experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage a mix of consultations and emergency presentations.
• Perform emergency procedures within a twilight shift window.
• Provide high-quality patient care in a multidisciplinary hospital setting.
• Collaborate with a supportive ECC team to develop clinical skills.

The role

This is a part-time Twilight Veterinary Surgeon position, working 3 weekday shifts from 6:00pm to 11:00pm and Sundays from 2:30pm to 7:30pm.

We’re looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with 2-3+ years’ experience who is confident managing consultations and emergency presentations. Ideally, you’ll be comfortable performing emergency procedures such as Caesarean sections and exploratory laparotomies, with experience of GDVs being advantageous.

This varied role offers a rewarding mix of consultations and surgery, with the opportunity to work up cases and further develop your clinical interests within a supportive hospital environment.
