Job summary

Harrier House Care Home in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, is seeking a part-time Care Assistant for twilight shifts (4pm–9pm), 20 hours per week. You will deliver high-quality, person-centred care, helping with personal tasks and daily activities.

You will monitor residents’ wellbeing, maintain accurate records and support meals, appointments and social activities. Training, DBS and benefits are provided, with weekend rotation included.

Qualifications

• Caring, compassionate approach to supporting older people.
• Good communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to work calmly in a busy environment and within a team.
• Reliable, positive and professional attitude focused on person-centred care.
• Understanding of dignity, independence and confidentiality.
• Knowledge of health & safety and safeguarding practices.
• Care experience desirable but training provided.
• Willingness to work toward NVQ 2 or equivalent; Care Certificate within 3 months if not held.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, mobility, nutrition and daily living support as per individual care plans.
• Monitor wellbeing, report changes promptly and maintain accurate care records.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities and assist with meals and outings.
• Support a clean, safe and welcoming environment while following safety and safeguarding procedures.
