Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is seeking a qualified teacher to provide targeted Year 6 tutoring, after school from 1:15–3:15 pm every day. The focus is on pupils just below age-related expectations, helping them close gaps and catch up, with additional support for Year 5 after the May SATs.

The ideal candidate will have recent Year 6 experience, be able to deliver the Year 6 SATs curriculum, and support pupils with SEND/SEMH.

Qualifications

• Must hold Qualified Teacher Status and have recent Year 6 classroom experience.
• Experience delivering Year 6 SATs curriculum is essential.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND/SEMH.
• Ability to tutor Maths and/or English.
• Use assessment information to tailor support.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted Year 6 tutoring after school, 1:15–3:15 pm daily.
• Support Year 5 pupils after Year 6 SATs in May.
• Identify gaps using assessment data and adapt support.
• Work with students in 1:1 and small groups.

Year 6 Tutor

We are also looking for a qualified teacher to provide targeted support for Year 6 pupils, working 1:15 3:15pm every day.

• Must have recent experience teaching Year 6.
• Experience delivering the Year 6 SATs curriculum and preparing pupils for SATs is essential.
• The focus will be on supporting pupils who are just below age-related expectations and helping them to close gaps and catch up.
• Following the Year 6 SATs in May, the tutor will also support Year 5 pupils with their learning and progress.
• The successful candidate should be organised and able to use assessment information effectively to identify gaps and adapt support accordingly.

In order to be successful for this role you must have:

• A Qualified teacher status is essential
• Experience working with children in an educational setting
• Experience working with children with SEND/SEMH
• Knowledge and the ability to tutor Maths and/or English
• A passion for working closely with children in a relevant setting.
• Ability to stay calm and patient and understanding.
• Ability to work with the students both 121 and in small groups.
