Job summary

Elevation People Solutions is recruiting three experienced ASF Tutors for adult education, home-based across South Yorkshire (Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham & Doncaster). You will deliver ASF qualifications to adult learners aiming to return to work or upskill, with delivery split between virtual sessions from home and face-to-face cohorts at community venues.

A full UK driving licence is essential; you will build learners’ progress, meet KPIs, and collaborate with local partners while

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deliver ASF qualifications to adult learners including Level 2/Level 3 certificates
• Plan and deliver engaging cohort programmes online and in community venues
• Tailor delivery to local South Yorkshire communities and remove barriers to learning
• Build positive learner relationships and provide support as needed
• Safeguard learner welfare and report concerns promptly
• Work towards KPIs for engagement, retention, achievement and progression
• Provide information, advice and guidance on learning and careers pathways
• Develop partnerships with local groups, employers and support agencies
• Signpost learners to wellbeing and financial support services
• Maintain accurate learner records in line with funding and compliance requirements

About the Role

We re recruiting three experienced Tutors on behalf of a well-established adult education provider. This is a home-based role covering the South Yorkshire region, so you ll need to live locally. You ll deliver Adult Skills Fund (ASF) qualifications to adult learners, many of whom are looking to get back into work or upskill in their current role.

Delivery is a blend of virtual classroom sessions run from home and face-to-face cohort sessions at community venues across Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.

What You ll Be Doing as a Tutor:

• Teaching, assessing and giving constructive feedback to adult learners on the following qualifications: Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools, Level 2 Certificate in Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values, and Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
• Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive cohort programmes both online and in local communities.
• Using your knowledge of South Yorkshire and its communities to tailor delivery and remove barriers to learning.
• Building positive relationships with learners from a wide range of backgrounds and providing individual support.
• Promoting and safeguarding learner welfare, and reporting concerns promptly.
• Working towards KPIs for engagement, retention, achievement, progression and learner satisfaction.
• Providing impartial information, advice and guidance on learning and career pathways.
• Building relationships with local partners, community groups, employers and support agencies.
• Signposting learners to wellbeing, counselling and financial support services.
• Keeping accurate learner records in line with quality, funding and compliance requirements.

What We re Looking For in a Tutor:

• Teaching qualification at Level 3 or above
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Level 3 Assessor qualification
• Proven experience as a tutor with a track record of successful learner outcomes
• Experience working with adult learners, including those who are unemployed
• Experience supporting learners with SEND
• Experience teaching from Entry Level to Level 3
• Confidence with online learning platforms, ed-tech and learner information systems
• Strong communication, planning, organisation and IT skills
• Willingness to work towards a Level 3 Designated Safeguarding Lead qualification
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Must be based in South Yorkshire
