Job summary

TP Tutors, part of Teaching Personnel, is seeking dedicated 1:1 tutors to provide personalised tuition to pupils across Huntingdon and the surrounding areas. We are looking for tutors with experience teaching Primary and Secondary learners, including GCSE preparation and SEND support.

Tuition occurs in pupils' homes, schools, community venues or alternative provisions, with flexible hours during school terms. You will deliver tailored 1:1 support and build pupil confidence and progress.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' UK teaching or tutoring experience.
• Experience teaching Primary and/or Secondary pupils.
• Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
• Ability to travel between tuition locations across Huntingdon.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 tuition tailored to each pupil's needs.
• Teach pupils across Primary and Secondary age groups.
• Plan and deliver lessons aligned to each pupil's curriculum and level.
• Complete session reports after each lesson and monitor progress.

Are you an experienced teacher or tutor looking to make a meaningful difference to children and young people?

TP Tutors, part of Teaching Personnel, is seeking dedicated 1:1 Tutors to provide personalised tuition to pupils across Huntingdon and the surrounding areas.

We are looking for tutors with experience teaching Primary and Secondary learners, including pupils preparing for GCSEs, as well as those requiring SEND support. Tuition takes place in pupils' homes, schools, community settings or alternative provisions during school hours, with some assignments available outside of these hours depending on pupil needs.

• Plan and deliver lessons appropriate to each pupil's curriculum, ability and learning level.
• Support pupils across subjects include English, Maths and other curriculum areas, depending on your expertise.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs, including SEND where appropriate.
• Support pupils preparing for GCSEs and other relevant qualifications.
• Monitor pupil progress and complete session reports after each lesson.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families, schools, local authorities and partner organisations.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.

• A minimum of two years' UK teaching or tutoring experience.
• Experience teaching Primary and/or Secondary pupils.
• Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
• Experience supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis is desirable.
• Excellent communication, behaviour management and relationship‑building skills.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to travel reliably between tuition locations.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia and speech and language needs.
• Experience delivering tuition in pupils' homes, schools, colleges, community settings or alternative provisions.
• GCSE and post-16 teaching experience.
• Knowledge of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
