Job summary

The University of Edinburgh is seeking a part-time Tutor in Digital Media Design to support the Edinburgh College of Art master’s programme. This Guaranteed Hours contract focuses on enabling the delivery of the 3D Digital Design and Design course and guiding students in practical studio work.

Applicants should have advanced knowledge of 3D design, texturing, lighting, rendering and animation, and the ability to teach, assess work and communicate clearly with a diverse student body.

Tutor in Digital Media Design at Edinburgh College of Art - CAHSS

Grade UE06: £34,610 to £39,906 per annum, pro-rata

Guaranteed hours: A minimum of 20 hours will be offered in academic year 2026-27.

Open-ended: permanent

The Opportunity:

We are recruiting a tutor to work within the Design and Digital Media master’s programme. The course we require support for is:

3D Digital Design and Design

Assistance is needed in delivering tutorial activities, providing practical guidance and advice to students, and assessing student work. Applicants should have advanced knowledge of working practices in one or more of the following areas: 3d design, texturing, lighting, rendering, and animation. The applicants should also have an understanding of the intellectual and research context in which digital design takes place.

  • Ability to work confidently and effectively with a diverse student cohort.
  • Demonstrable critical, informed, and scholarly capacity to engage with a range of teaching media, including online learning and teaching.

This post is a part-time, guaranteed-hours role (20 hours per academic year). Work is 100% on campus.
