Job summary

STRI Group is seeking a groundsperson for our seven-hectare sports turf research site. The role involves maintenance, mowing, irrigation support, and preparing trial areas. You will work on a Monday–Friday pattern (8.15am–4.00pm) with a focus on research and innovation.

We offer training and development, with long-term career opportunities in the sports surface industry and a salary reflecting experience. The role is full-time and permanent at our Bingley site.

Qualifications

• Interest in sports turf and turf maintenance.
• Willingness to learn and develop.
• Able to follow instructions and protocols accurately.
• Curious about how data and research improve turf management.
• Positive, reliable and a good team player.
• Experience in turf maintenance or grounds work is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Sports turf maintenance across our research plots and trial areas.
• Operating machinery for mowing, renovation and general grounds work.
• Assisting with irrigation and site upkeep.
• Working to clear instructions and follow trial protocols.
• Supporting the preparation and maintenance of trial and demonstration areas.
