Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a Mechanical Systems Integration Engineer to join a high-performance program in gas turbine/turbomachinery development. You will work across integration, validation, and in-service support, delivering compressor system integration activities and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires hands-on experience with thermofluids or mechanical aspects of gas turbines, and a strong background in systems engineering, DFMEA, and V&V within aerospace contexts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
• Experience with Teamcenter, Siemens NX and LCE tools (OSORs, FRACAS).
• Strong systems integration experience in aerospace or turbomachinery.
• Experience performing root cause investigations (e.g., Fishbone, EBRCA).
• Knowledge of safety processes: FMECA, SARs, RedTop or similar.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compressor system integration activities across multiple parallel workstreams.
• Support product system design integration with cross-functional teams.
• Conduct OSOR investigations and root cause analysis (RCI).
• Provide complex technical validation and verification support (V&V).
• Support SAR activities, including fleet health and risk tracking.
• Produce clear reporting for Technical Leads and stakeholders.
