Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026.

The new team has three locations: the Motorsport Competence Center of Audi in Neuburg (Germany), the Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland), and the Sauber Motorsport Technical Center in the UK, which will be operational this year. Our Power Unit is developed in Neuburg, while Hinwil focuses on chassis and race operations.

What you need? The mindset of an athlete. If you are someone for whom giving up isn’t an option and limits are just something to be overcome, you can bring "Vorsprung durch Technik" to Formula 1 with us. Become part of this unique project and make motorsport history.

The position for the Audi F1 Project is based at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg, Germany.

Your responsibilities include working on the combustion process and calibration of a high-performance powertrain, aiming to maximize engine performance and efficiency, ensuring reliability. You will perform development measures during concept, design, commissioning, and testing phases.

Your Mission
  • Develop combustion processes and gas-exchange via 3D-CFD simulations.
  • Conduct thermodynamic development of the internal combustion engine, including gas-exchange, combustion phases, and flow simulation of intake & exhaust systems.
  • Plan, perform, and evaluate 3D CFD simulations with proper reporting.
  • Correlate simulation data with measurement data from engine tests and testbenches.
  • Develop processes and improve workflow and toolchains for simulation and test data correlation.
Your Profile
  • Technical degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, fluid mechanics (bachelor's, master's, Diplom, or Dr.-Ing.).
  • Several years of professional experience in internal combustion engine development and 3D CFD simulation.
  • Broad knowledge of engine technology and virtual development tool chains.
  • Experience handling data from testbenches.
