Manpower are currently recruiting a reliable Tug Driver to join a busy industrial operation in Grimsby. The role involves moving trailers and equipment across site, supporting production and logistics while complying with safety procedures. You must be prepared to work outdoors and on a flexible shift pattern between 6am and 10pm.

This position offers on-site training, weekend work opportunities, and the chance to develop within a busy port/industrial environment near Grimsby Docks.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating a tug, shunter or similar industrial vehicle.
• Experience in logistics/ manufacturing environments beneficial.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Good communication with multiple departments.
• Flexible shifts 6am–10pm.

Responsibilities

• Operate tug vehicles to move trailers, units and equipment.
• Transport and position trailers between bays and zones.
• Ensure trailers are parked, secured and positioned correctly.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report defects.
• Liaise with warehouse, logistics, transport and production teams.
• Complete relevant vehicle documentation as required.
• Follow site traffic management and health & safety procedures.
• Assist with general yard duties as needed.

Manpower are currently recruiting for a reliable and safety-conscious Tug Driver to join a busy industrial operation in Scunthorpe. This is a varied role involving the movement of trailers, units, and materials across site, supporting the efficient flow of goods within a fast-paced operational environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe transportation, positioning, and allocation of trailers and equipment while working closely with operational teams to ensure production and logistics requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate tug vehicles safely and efficiently to move trailers, units, and equipment across site.
• Transport and position trailers between loading bays, storage locations, production areas, and designated operational zones.
• Ensure trailers are parked, secured, and positioned accurately in accordance with site requirements.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and pre-use checks, reporting any defects or maintenance issues promptly.
• Liaise with warehouse, logistics, transport, and production teams to coordinate trailer movements and operational priorities.
• Complete relevant vehicle and operational documentation accurately when required.
• Adhere to all site traffic management procedures, health and safety requirements, and safe systems of work.
• Assist with general yard and operational duties as required to support business needs.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience operating a tug, shunter, yard tractor, terminal tractor, HGV, FLT, or similar industrial vehicle is preferred.
• Experience within logistics, transport, manufacturing, distribution, recycling, warehousing, ports, or industrial environments would be advantageous.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with multiple departments.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including shifts between 6am and 10pm.
