About the Role

Large independent firm seeks a Trust Tax Director to head a trust team across the South West. This is an exciting opportunity to live in a beautiful part of the world with offices in Poole, Salisbury, Exeter, and Truro.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure the Trust team’s work complies with legislative and ethical standards.
2. Assist the team in resolving client issues, ensuring delivery within timescale and budget.
3. Manage a team of advisors and lead their professional development.
4. Liaise with clients, including Trustees, Beneficiaries, individuals, and intermediaries, to provide excellent service.
5. Act as principal on a portfolio of trust and HNW clients, reviewing and signing off advice.
6. Review and advise on trust accounts.
7. Contribute to marketing and development of trust services.
8. Collaborate to grow the team and trust business.
9. Help upskill colleagues in other departments to manage risk and identify opportunities.
10. Meet with clients to understand and advise on their tax planning needs, overseeing work by team members.
11. Work with Private Client tax partners to identify opportunities and threats.
12. Promote other departments’ services, including financial planning.
13. Ensure work is allocated appropriately and departmental targets are met.
14. Assist with the operation of a trust corporation.

About You

1. Experience as a senior manager or director in a similar role.
2. ATT or CTA qualified (or equivalent), with up-to-date technical knowledge; STEP qualification is desirable.
