A leading NHS teaching trust is seeking a full-time Specialist Registrar in Cardiothoracic Surgery for a 1-year post, potentially extendable. The role primarily involves clinical duties at the John Radcliffe Hospital, contributing to inpatient and outpatient care, and joining the on-call rota. Candidates should have an interest in furthering their experience in Cardiac and/or Thoracic Surgery. The position includes teaching and clinical research responsibilities.
A full-time post as Specialist Registrar in Cardiothoracic Surgery for 1 year, extendable to a maximum of 2 years, available at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based primarily at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
The Cardiothoracic unit provides a service which covers all aspects of adult Cardiothoracic Surgery (on- and off-pump CABG, aortic and mitral valve surgery, aortic aneurysm surgery, extended lung resection, VATS, endobronchial stents and thymectomies), excluding transplantation. The department requires participation in clinical research, audit and teaching. This post is not approved for training and does not carry an NTN and would be most suitable for someone early in their training and wishing to gain further experience in Cardiac and/or Thoracic Surgery.
