Job summary

The Link Academy Trust is seeking a qualified SENDCo or NPQ SENCO with a strong understanding of the SEND code of practice to join our East Devon schools. You will collaborate with inclusion partners, subject leaders, and school leaders to ensure high-quality learning experiences for all SEND pupils across the curriculum.

You will be part of a supportive, faith-aligned community that values individuality and professional growth, with a focus on improving outcomes and sustaining work-life balance

Qualifications

  • Qualified SENDCo or NPQ SENCO in progress.
  • Excellent understanding of the SEND code of practice.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional learning to develop and implement current teaching strategies.
  • Understanding of how pupils learn and providing high-quality indoor and outdoor learning opportunities.
  • Excellent knowledge of inclusive practice and adaptive teaching.
  • Recognition of our amazing children; nurturing, supporting and challenging them.
  • Commitment to the wider school community and engagement with them.
  • Positive, solution-focused and creative approach with high expectations for all.
  • Be supportive of a Christian ethos.

What we are looking for in a candidate
  • To be a qualified SENDCo or have relevant experience and are currently undertaking an NPQ SENCO qualification
  • Have an excellent understanding of the SEND code of practice
  • A commitment to developing your own practice through engagement in professional learning in order to develop and implement the most current teaching strategies.
  • An understanding of how pupils learn and real commitment to provide and maintain high-quality indoor and outdoor learning opportunities.
  • Excellent knowledge of inclusive practice, adaptive teaching and the graduated approach
  • Recognition of our amazing children; nurturing, supporting and challenging them, meeting their needs to ensure they have independent learning behaviours that will see them prepared for their learning journey.
  • A committed approach to the wider school community and engagement with them.
  • A positive, solution focused and creative approach, combined with professional curiosity and high expectations for all
  • Be supportive of a Christian ethos
    Temporary Part time post (fte0.4) to commence January 2027 or sooner if possible

To be paid within the Main Pay Scale. This post will be based across our East Devon schools of Farway, Broadhembury, Branscombe & Woodbury Salterton.
