Job summary

THE ROLE

The successful candidate will be assigned a clinical supervisor and will receive experience in Acute General Medicine during a two-year period. Candidates may also have the opportunity to engage in rotations in Geriatric Medicine, Ambulatory care and Intensive care at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

The appointee will be expected to undertake audit and quality improvement projects, as well as to attend clinical governance meetings, mortality and morbidity meetings, regional and national educational meetings. Research activity is encouraged. The close links with the University of Oxford and Oxford Brookes University will further enhance research engagement.

The appointee will actively participate in the local educational programme of teaching undergraduates as well as postgraduates.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will join a group of residents and consultants who lead one of the eight Medical Firms, all of which are well staffed with a core team of 3 residents at any one time. The resident rotas support 7 day working including Bank Holidays.
