Trust Doctor (clinical fellow ST1/ST2 equivalent) in General Surgery

Applicants are invited to join the General Surgery Department at Whipps Cross University Hospital, part of Barts Health NHS Trust.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking to appoint a clinical fellow ST1/ST2 to join our friendly department, based in an associate teaching hospital which is dedicated to teaching and training. This post is also suitable for GP trainees who would like more exposure to surgical conditions.

Job responsibilities

The successful candidate will be working alongside the surgical team, assessing all general surgery admissions for both inpatient elective and emergency work, as well as working within our newly established Surgical Assessment Unit.

Person Specification

Experience

• Previous involvement in governance & audit projects and teaching
• Track record of involvement in research Publications

Skills

• Ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary environment; Strong sense of responsibility Up-to-date resuscitation Skills
• Demonstrable interest in general surgery CCrISP, ATLS

Knowledge

• Broad knowledge in pre- and post-operative patient care

Qualifications

• MBBS Completed the requirements for the MRCS
• Part 1 MRCS
