Job summary

BEAR Scotland in Perth is looking for a Trunk Road Incident Liaison Officer to join the Network Team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will coordinate responses to incidents across the North West Network, helping ensure the trunk road operates safely 24/7.

The role requires excellent communication, IT literacy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure while guiding emergency services and maintenance crews. Shift pattern includes nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Good IT skills and accurate record-keeping.
• Experience in similar operational, emergency or roads environment advantageous.
• Calm under pressure with ability to make quick decisions during incidents.
• Willingness to work a shift pattern, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monitoring the impact of incidents on journey times and network performance.
• Support management of severe weather events and winter maintenance operations.
• Liaise with emergency services, Traffic Scotland and Trunk Road Incident Support Units.
• Coordinate deployment of emergency response and winter maintenance crews.
• Monitor road conditions, traffic information and weather forecasts.
• Maintain accurate records, databases and incident reporting systems.
• Support effective management of incidents to minimise disruption and maintain network safety.
