Season Temp Glasgow Driver
Mission
Newrest is looking for a temporary driver to complete our Glasgow runs. As a driver, you will be responsible for loading catering consignments onto a truck as per the daily load plan, flight schedule, and unloading at the unit. Check that the load is safe and secure before driving the truck to the airfield via a designated route. Complete aircraft engagements following customer and ramp procedures and guidelines. Catering and de-catering of aircraft must be completed as per each customer’s precise schedule.

- Reports to: Transport Manager
- Shift: Night shift, 00:00 start, 4 on / 4 off rolling pattern (10-12 hours per shift)
- Pay: £13.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle safety checks at the start of each shift
- Report vehicle defects or damage
- Ensure vehicle security checks and sealing before departure
- Maintain refrigeration as per food safety protocols
- Load and unload catering safely and promptly
- Load aircraft according to galley plans and policies
- Drive adhering to DVLA, local, and airport regulations
- Follow training protocols during aircraft driving
- Handover security paperwork and signed delivery notes to crew
- Return catering and offload into the relevant department
- Use Tacho correctly for all trips
- Operate high loader vehicles following safety procedures
- Deliver and collect from various UK destinations as requested
- Report incidents or accidents promptly
- Wear uniform and PPE at all times
- Keep vehicles clean and refuel as needed
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance (e.g., top-up fluids)
- Follow all safety and security measures
- Interact professionally with colleagues and clients
- Comply with CSR initiatives
- Experience driving 3.5t Luton vans is preferable
- Operate trunking routes as required
- No more than 6 penalty points on license (no INs or DNs)
