Salary

Commencement on the salary range is subject to comparable skills and experience.

Duration of Contract

Fixed Term for 12 months. Please note that this role is a maternity cover, so the contract may finish earlier than scheduled if the substantive post holder chooses to return to work earlier than expected.

Location

This is an office-based role. Requests for hybrid working (splitting time between our Sutton site and home) may be considered following successful completion of the probation period and key training, if the role allows. Flexible working options may also be considered.

Summary of Role

We are looking to appoint an experienced Trial Manager responsible for:

  • Day-to-day management of the trial(s) through set-up, recruitment, and reporting;
  • Liaison with stakeholders and participating centres to promote the trial(s) and ensure successful recruitment and delivery;
  • Coordination of data management and biological sample collection activities.

The post offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual with clinical trial experience to work in a dynamic and supportive academic environment at one of the leading National Cancer Research Institute cancer trials units. The successful applicant will oversee the central coordination of multicentre cancer trials.

Key Requirements

Applicants should hold a first degree or equivalent qualification in biological science, social science, or other relevant fields (including nursing and healthcare disciplines), or have equivalent relevant work experience. A good understanding of GCP, data protection, and research governance is essential. Experience in clinical trial coordination is required.

The Institute of Cancer Research is seeking an experienced Trial Manager to join the Cancer Research UK Clinical Trials & Statistics Unit (ICR-CTSU) at its Sutton site in Surrey. ICR-CTSU manages a diverse portfolio of national and international phase III multicentre randomized controlled trials, and phase II trials of targeted treatments focusing on breast, urological, and head and neck cancers.
