A leading hospital trust in the UK is seeking an Operational Research Manager to spearhead academic haematology cell therapy trials. The role involves autonomous management of trials, budget oversight, and team leadership to ensure compliance and patient safety within a diverse and innovative healthcare environment. The successful candidate will have a profound impact on research and clinical practice across multiple sites, contributing to the advancement of cell therapies and clinical excellence.
The post holder will have responsibility for leading a team delivering important academic haematology cell therapy trials, including phase 1 CAR T cell and stem cell transplant trials.
The post holder must work autonomously, monitoring and coordinating apheresis slots, cell manufacturing, trial protocols, and ensuring trial governance and patient safety. They will lead overall study coordination, including coordination across different sites, trial costing, and budget management.
As a key member of the research team, the post holder will contribute to service development, advise and support patients regarding the research study, monitor patient wellbeing, and report any untoward side effects.
Clinical responsibilities include coordinating academic trials at a multi-centre level and managing external study sites for academic clinical trials.
Ensure trials comply with UK clinical trial directives and regulations, including ICH GCP standards, adhering to trial protocols at all times.
Responsibilities also include team leadership, staff management, regulatory submissions, and overall study management.
