Job summary

East Midlands Councils Starting Point, an office-based service triaging referrals for children across Early Help, safeguarding and specialist services in Derbyshire. The role does not involve direct face-to-face contact with children or families, but you will support staff and make threshold decisions on incoming contacts.

You will respond to professional advice, screen domestic abuse incidents, speak with families and professionals by telephone, and complete requests for information.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate clearly with families and professionals by telephone.
• Capable of applying threshold decisions based on policy guidance.

Responsibilities

• Support staff and provide oversight of completed work while making threshold decisions on incoming contacts.
• Respond to professional advice and consultation line.
• Screen domestic abuse incidents and contacts relating to unborn children.
• Speak with families and professionals by telephone when required.
