Job summary

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is recruiting experienced midwives to join our inpatient and community maternity services. A Triage Midwife provides the first point of assessment for pregnant and postnatal women, with on-call duties and homebirth support.

We offer a comprehensive preceptorship and strong support for new starters, plus flexible part-time arrangements across county sites and community settings. The role requires UK midwifery experience and an NMC pin.

Qualifications

• NMC pin required and UK midwife experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess presenting symptoms and perform maternal/fetal observations, identify risk factors, provide advice and reassurance, arrange investigations and treatments, and escalate concerns to obstetric or multidisciplinary teams.
• Support effective patient flow, safe decision-making, timely referral and accurate documentation within the maternity pathway.
