Job summary

Carrington West is recruiting for a Tree Team Leader to oversee day-to-day arboricultural operations across the borough in a hands-on, frontline role. The candidate will coordinate staff, vehicles, equipment and workloads while ensuring safety, quality and timely delivery of works.

The role requires attendance on site/in the office five days a week, with a strong focus on team performance and customer-focused service delivery.

Tree Team Leader

Are you an experienced arboricultural supervisor or team leader looking for a new opportunity?

We are currently looking for a hands- on Tree Team Leader to oversee day-to-day arboricultural operations across the borough. This is a frontline role combining team supervision with practical operational delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

You will be responsible for coordinating staff, vehicles, equipment and daily workloads, while supporting team performance, health and safety compliance and high-quality service delivery. This position requires attendance on site/in the office 5 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate arboricultural and tree maintenance crews on a daily basis.
• Organise work programmes, routes and staff allocations to ensure resources are used effectively.
• Allocate vehicles, machinery, tools, equipment and PPE in line with operational requirements.
• Monitor productivity, workmanship and overall team performance.
• Provide clear instructions, practical guidance, coaching and support to operational staff.
• Ensure tree works are undertaken in accordance with agreed specifications, risk assessments and safe working procedures.
• Promote strong health, safety and environmental standards across all activities.
• Help resolve operational issues and ensure works are completed within required timescales.
• Support the delivery of a professional and customer-focused arboricultural service.

Essential Experience

• Previous experience supervising, leading or coordinating an operational arboriculture, tree maintenance or environmental services team.
• Strong practical background in tree surgery, tree maintenance or wider arboricultural operations.
• Experience managing daily workloads, resources and frontline staff.

Essential Qualifications

• C1 Driving Licence or equivalent.
• Current Driver CPC / Driver Qualification Card.
• IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent recognised Health & Safety qualification.
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Arboriculture, Horticulture, Grounds Maintenance, Environmental Services or a related subject.
