Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a part-time Treatment Room Nurse for a GP practice in the West of England. The role focuses on wound care, cervical screening, vaccinations, ECGs, and minor procedures.

Qualifications

• RGN qualification and current NMC registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care, dressings and leg ulcer management.
• Carry out cervical screening.
• Perform venepuncture and specimen collection.
• Conduct ECGs and Doppler assessments.
• Take blood pressure and routine clinical observations.
• Remove sutures and clips.
• Support minor surgery and other clinical procedures.
• Respond to medical emergencies.
• Deliver childhood immunisations and vaccination programmes.
• Provide travel health advice and vaccinations.
• Maintain vaccine records and cold-chain compliance.

A part-time Treatment Room Nurse post in the nursing team of a five-partner GP practice, working alongside two practice nurses and a phlebotomist. The role centres on wound care, cervical screening, ECGs, Doppler assessments and childhood, travel and seasonal vaccinations. It suits newly qualified registered nurses or those new to General Practice, with a supernumerary period and structured training, and Fridays are required. Applicants need an adult or children's registered nurse registration.
