Job summary

Wessex Water Services is seeking a Treatment Operator to join the Bath and North East Somerset team, covering Frome, Radstock and Paulton. You will operate and maintain sewage treatment plants and pumping stations, ensuring safety, quality standards and compliance, with duties that include after-hours work as needed.

Applicants should have experience in industrial settings, GCSEs in English, maths and a technical subject, and a valid driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience working unsupervised in an industrial or process plant.
• Electrical or mechanical experience would be desirable.
• Confined spaces training will be provided; eligible to work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Operation and maintenance of conventional sewage treatment plants and pumping stations to meet quality standards.
• Running advanced wastewater treatment and sludge process plants.
• Ensuring compliance with company policy, processes and procedures.

If so, we are looking for a Treatment Operator to work in our Bath and North East Somerset (BANES) team, covering areas such as Frome, Radstock and Paulton.

What you’ll do

Your role will involve:

• the operation and maintenance of conventional sewage treatment plants and pumping stations to meet quality standards
• running advanced wastewater treatment and sludge process plants
• ensuring compliance with company policy, processes and procedures
• ensuring the health, safety and welfare of all colleagues, the public and yourself at all times
• working outside of normal working hours, including evenings and weekends.

What you’ll need

You will need experience working unsupervised in an industrial or process plant.

Electrical or mechanical experience would be desirable. Confined spaces training will be provided as part of role, however you will need to be eligible to work in confined spaces.

You will also need:

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, maths, and a technical subject
• to be happy working outside in all conditions
• a valid driving licence, ideally with category BE
• to be flexible in your approach to work.
