We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail orientated & collaborative Treasury Markets Portfolio Manager (UK) to play a key role in supporting Treasury’s Markets team in growing the Treasury investment portfolio, helping with dealing activities, analysing wholesale credit risk and supporting wholesale funding preparation including capital markets issuance at Monzo. This is an important role for us, and you will work across the Treasury, Finance and Risk functions.

  • Executing of derivatives hedging (interest rate swaps / FX), secured financing transactions and investment securities
  • Supporting the team with investment execution - investing and analysing of wholesale credit risk in government and SSAs debt as well as securitisation transactions including covered bonds and asset backed securities (e.g. mortgages, consumer assets)
  • Maintaining relationships with key advisors / banks to identify and drive optimal funding / investment opportunities, including structuring and pricing decisions.
  • Preparing presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including contributing to the ALCo pack and wholesale funding preparation
  • Supporting with change initiatives / projects (e.g. improvements of existing systems)
  • Working with teams across finance, second & third line defence

We’d love to hear from you if you have…

  • Significant experience working at a bank and have in depth knowledge of several areas of Treasury (particularly financial markets)
  • A finance or accounting qualification
  • A highly analytical and forward thinking approach
  • Familiarity with large data analysis and technology including Python
  • The ability to articulate and explain technical topics
  • Openness of communication

This role can be based in our London office or based remotely in UK but will involve regular travel to the London office.

We will set you up to work from home; all employees are given Macbooks and for fully remote workers we will provide extra support for your work-from-home setup.

  • Initial video call with hiring manager (30 mins)
  • Technical video interview with hiring manager and treasury team (60 min)
  • Behavioural interview with finance stakeholders (45 min)
