Volunteer Treasurer Wanted
Horton and Chalbury Village Hall, Dorset

Are you passionate about community engagement and have a head for numbers? Horton and Chalbury Village Hall is seeking a Volunteer Treasurer to join our friendly committee. This key role helps ensure the financial wellbeing of our much-loved village hall and supports its continued role as a hub of community life.

About Us

Located near Wimborne in the heart of Dorset, Horton and Chalbury Village Hall is a vibrant community venue that hosts events, activities, and social gatherings. Operated by a team of committed volunteers, the hall fosters inclusivity, connection, and a true community spirit.

About the Role

As Treasurer, you will play a vital part in managing the hall's finances and supporting the strategic direction of the organisation. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining accurate financial records and managing day-to-day transactions
  • Preparing budgets, financial reports, and annual accounts
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements
  • Supporting fundraising efforts and grant applications
  • Providing financial updates at regular committee meetings
  • Overseeing and supporting the Hall Administrator
  • Managing booking finances: monitoring income, invoicing, and reconciling payments
  • Contributing to strategic planning as a board trustee

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in financial management, bookkeeping, or accounting
  • Is organised, detail-oriented, and reliable
  • Communicates well and enjoys working in a team Is committed to making a difference in their local community
  • (Desirable) Has experience with staff supervision or booking systems

Time Commitment

Approximately 20 hours per month, including attendance at monthly committee meetings.
