Music Mark is seeking a dedicated music educator to recruit and retain pupils, teach across schools and a music centre, and lead ensembles. You will travel between venues, deliver both small-group and one-to-one lessons, and contribute to holiday programmes and school performances.

The role requires substantial teaching experience in schools, ability to teach multiple instruments, and strong English communication. A driving licence and flexibility are essential for travel between venues.

Qualifications

• Substantial recent teaching experience relevant to the role.
• Experience of teaching within a school environment.
• High level performance experience across a variety of genres.
• Ability to play and teach multiple instruments across the family.
• Experience of conducting and leading ensembles.
• Highly developed interpersonal communication skills with a good standard of written and spoken English.
• Enthusiastic, positive, and self-motivated team player with excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, ability to work flexibly.
• Driving licence and use of a vehicle.
• Commitment to equity, diversity & inclusion, and youth voice, Teaching qualification, e.g. QTS, CME.
• Safeguarding training

Responsabilités

• Recruiting and retaining pupils and delivering lessons across schools, a music centre, and on Saturdays.
• Lead or support youth ensembles through rehearsals, courses, and tours.
• Promote group lesson participation via whole-class programmes and demonstrations.
• Design and deliver high-quality, tailored lessons for each pupil.
• Foster an inclusive, safe learning environment and encourage self-expression through music.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback using recognised frameworks; award certificates.
• Maintain attendance, progress records, and other admin duties.
• Participate in professional development, mentoring, and quality assurance processes.
• Ensure compliance with policies and mandatory training requirements.
• Build strong relationships with schools and communicate with parents and carers.
