Job summary

Bright Horizons is seeking an Early Years Field Chef to cover nurseries across Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Bristol. The role involves travel from Harwell Nursery to other sites, preparing meals suitable for young children and ensuring dietary needs are met with minimal waste.

You will need a UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle. The position is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with mileage paid for travel between nurseries.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial catering role is essential.
• Strong knowledge of managing dietary requirements, including allergies.
• Food safety certification (CIEH L2 or equivalent) required on day 1.
• COSHH knowledge is desirable.
• A valid driving licence and access to own transport are essential.
• Excellent communication with colleagues, children and parents is important.

Responsibilities

• Travel to nurseries within the region to cover shifts and support the permanent chef.
• Prepare, cook and present age-appropriate meals with minimal waste.
• Ensure dietary requirements are understood and communicated to nursery teams.
• Maintain accurate kitchen records and keep a clean, safe work environment.
• Assist with food ordering and liaise with nursery management.
