Job summary

Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated support worker for Ward 21 at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead. You will assist with daily living activities and work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support patients in hospital, home or care settings.

The role involves carrying out delegated clinical duties, recording observations, supporting recovery plans and promoting patient dignity, independence and wellbeing in a fast-paced trauma and orthopaedic environment.

Qualifications

• GCSE English or equivalent.
• Care Certificate or Level 2/3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.

Responsibilities

• Undertakes a range of delegated clinical care duties in hospital, community, or other settings.
• Records patient observations and changes to patient clinical conditions.
• Carries out limited clinical care duties.
• Build and maintain safe and effective therapeutic relationships.
• Support individuals to contribute to collaborative care/support/recovery plans.
• Promote patient hygiene and physical health and engage in health promotion.
