Job summary

Youth Worker in Domestic Abuse and Victims of Crime at Young Devon based in Barnstaple. You will join a team delivering group and 1:1 youth work, with a focus on trauma-informed support for young people who have experienced domestic abuse and crime.

The role requires a car for local travel and will involve working within the YES centre and in schools and community settings. Applicants with lived experience are welcome.

Qualifications

• Experience or willingness to work with young people affected by domestic abuse and crime.
• Must have access to a car for locality travel.
• Ability to deliver trauma-informed support to young people.
• Ability to deliver group and 1:1 youth work in various settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver group and 1:1 youth work at the Barnstaple YES centre and in community settings and schools.
• Provide trauma-informed support, listening and empowerment.
• Manage a caseload with tailored support (safety planning, self-esteem, emotions).
• Travel locally to engage with young people and partner sites as needed.
