Job summary

Randstad Student Support seeks a Youth Engagement Mentor to work with young people facing absenteeism or exclusion, including those with SEND/SEMH. You will provide 1:1 sessions focused on confidence and regulation to re-engage learners and act as a calm, trauma-informed presence in moments of crisis.

The role involves guiding students back to education or vocational pathways, accompanying them to interviews or placements, and supporting families to improve attendance and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEND/SEMH challenges.
• Ability to build trust with young people in crisis.
• Willingness to travel to students' homes or communities.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships and wellbeing through 1:1 sessions.
• Deliver low-pressure activities to reignite learning.
• Collaborate with parents, Social Care and CAMHS to support attendance.
